Malam Umar Namadi, the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, has secured the APC gubernatorial ticket for the 2022 general election.

Namadi emerged victorious after defeating eight of his opponents with 1220 popular votes, according to the returning officer, Dr. Kabiru Muhammad.

Other candidates, according to him, received 16 votes, 106 votes from Sen. Sabo Nakudu, 13 votes from Farooq Adamu Aliyu, 5 votes from Sani Hussaini Garin-Gabas, and 58 votes from Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.

Adamu Mukhtar, Ahmad Rufa’i Zakari, and Ahmad Muhammad received no votes.

Namadi thanked the delegates, APC stakeholders, and security services for a successful primary election in his acceptance address.

He promised to continue with the good work of Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar if he wins the upcoming 2023 general election.

DAILY POST observed that other contestants sneaked out from the venue hours after commencement of voting.

Sen. Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, Ahmad Muhammad and Ahmad Rufa’i Zakari were not seen at the venue of the primary election, which commenced at about 11:00 p.m. and ended Friday mornng.
