In Jigawa State, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has formed a 27-member reconciliation committee in the aftermath of the party’s primary elections.
The committee’s establishment was approved by Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
The committee is tasked with contacting all disgruntled aspirants and party members regarding the results of the recently concluded primary elections.
This comes just days after some APC and PDP leaders were spotted at a meeting hosted by Jigawa NNPP leader Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim at his Kano home.
Among the top politicians are three gubernatorial aspirants: Sen. Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, former Deputy Governor, Ahmad Muhammad and Bashir Adamu Jumbo.
Others include former member House of Representatives, Hon. Gausu Boyi Ringim, member State Assembly, Hon. Sule Musa Dutse, former Chairman of Dutse, Bala Yakubu Yargaba, among other top PDP and APC supporters.
The reconciliation committee, which is under the leadership of Senator Bello Maitama is to prevent mass defection of aggrieved members ahead of the 2023 general election.
