The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has cleared the air on a bandit attack in Gwarinpa, Abuja.
According to reports, bandits attacked Genuine Estate after Efab Queens in Gwarinpa’s 6th Avenue between 1 and 4 a.m. on Monday.
The bandits were armed with bows, arrows, and machetes, and an unconfirmed number of estate residents were kidnapped.
This attack comes just hours after Nigerians were still reeling from the Sunday attack on a Catholic church in Owo, Ondo State.
When newsmen reached out to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adeh Josephine, she confirmed that the incident was most likely not a kidnapping.
According to Adeh, it was a robbery incident and not bandits, adding that she was working on it.
She said, “It is most likely not a kidnapping incident. I am working on it and it is not in Gwarinpa, it is in Galadimawa. Am on it right now.
“But it is most likely not a kidnap case and it is not bandits, it is just robbers, I am working on it.”
