Former England international Gary Lineker praised Argentina captain Lionel Messi after the latter scored five goals in a friendly match against Estonia on Sunday.
Messi, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain, has been dubbed the ‘Messiah’ by Lineker.
Argentina thrashed Estonia 5-0 in a friendly match at the El Sadar Stadium on Sunday, with Messi scoring five goals.
Against Estonia, the Barcelona legend put in one of his best individual performances of his career.
Following Messi’s five-star performance against Estonia, Lineker praised the 34-year-old on Twitter.
His tweet read: “The extraordinary Lionel Messi has scored all five of Argentina’s goals tonight. Astonishingly, it’s not his goal-scoring that elevates him from the other greats.
“He’s also as good a passer and dribbler as anyone that’s ever played the game. The Messiah.”
Meanwhile, Messi was the Man of the Match as Argentina lifted the CONMEBOL–UEFA Cup of Champions trophy a few days ago.
