Senator Magnus Abe, a former lawmaker has revealed that he is supporting the All Progressives presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, because he creates wealth and understands money.
This was made known by Abe at a grand reception put together by his supporters in his hometown, Bera in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
This is as he also vowed to contest the governorship position in the state during next year’s elections.
“If you look carefully at the APC, if you look at all our contributions and how the party got here and the history of Nigeria, you will know that there is no other person, not just in the APC, there is no other person in Nigeria that can do what the Jagaban of Africa can do.
“Forget all the noise here and there, the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu,” Abe stated, pointing out that he will not support anybody that cannot help Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Abe also announced that he would be starting a movement that will put an end to imposition in Rivers state.
He urged the people of the state to be ready to chart a new course if they want to see a change from the old ways.
“I want to challenge Rivers people, if you say you want to see a change in Rivers State, if you say you don’t want to have a governor that is hired by one person, if you say you want to see a future that is different from the past, you must be prepared to do something different.
“You must be prepared to bring out your name, you must be prepared to bring out your PVC, you must be prepared to sign your signature. Let them see that we have decided.
“When we gather those signatures and I look at the number, I will call a meeting of Rivers people. And then we will make the announcement.
“This is not about any political party, it is not about APC, it is not about PDP, it is not about APGA, it is not about Labour Party.
“It is about the future of Rivers State, it is about what you expect from the government of your state,” Abe said.
He called for volunteers across the state that would help to register people for the project tagged ‘Senator Magnus (SMA-2023)’, saying he has all it takes to become the next governor of Rivers.
“Today is the day for us to make a decision. All those who want us to hire a governor that we know, who believe that Senator Magnus Abe can do this job and will like to see him hired, I’m going to register project ‘Senator Magnus Abe 2023 (SMA-202).
“And the first person to register will be me because I believe I can do this job. I believe I have the competence. I believe U have the experience. I believe I have the capacity.
“I believe I have the institutional knowledge and I believe I can hire the right kind of people to provide the right kind of services for Rivers men and women.
“We will train the volunteers within one month we want to see how many people we are going to register. We will start a movement in Rivers State that will teach every politician in this country a lesson.
“When we finish what we are doing in Rivers State, nobody will impose anybody on anybody ever again. It will end here.”
