One killed, nine injured in Ondo crash

One person was killed in an accident on the Ondo-Ore Expressway on Wednesday, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ondo State Sector Command.

According to the FRSC, nine additional people were hurt.

30 people were involved in the accident, including 20 male adults, 9 female adults, and 1 female child, according to the corps’ Sector Commander, Mr. Ezekiel Sonallah.

He explained that it involved a Toyota Hiace with number plate, LND 998 XY, and a Toyota Previa, marked KAA 762 BT.

He said, “Six male adults and three female adults were injured, while one male adult died at the hospital after personnel of the FRSC rescued the victims.

“The victims were taken to the Ondo State General Hospital, Akure, and some were taken to the FMC Annex, Akure, for treatment, while the only corpse was deposited at the morgue of the general hospital.”

Sonallah noted that the accident was caused by speed violation and loss of control on the part of the drivers of the vehicles involved.

He urged motorists to install speed limiting devices in their vehicles.
