Housewife burns 7-year-old nephew with hot iron in Ibadan

A 32-year-old housewife, Rofiat Bello, was arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ court, Ibadan, Oyo State for assaulting her nephew with hot iron.

The prosecutor, Insp Folake Ewe, told the court that Rofiat, assaulted her seven-year-old nephew, Olalekan Abdulateef, who lives with her on July 18, by placing a hot iron on his back to “reprimand him” which caused him grievous bodily hurt.

The Magistrate, Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and thereafter referred the case to the multi-door court on Ring Road, Ibadan.
