Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kasshim Shettima, has said the nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, Hon Fatuhu Muhammad, has agreed to return to the ruling party.

Shettima, who disclosed this on Facebook said he had a meeting with the aggrieved lawmaker, whose father was Buhari’s oldest brother, at his residence in Abuja, on Monday evening and that Muhammad has rescinded his decision to leave the party.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Fatuhu, member representing Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Constituency at the House of Representatives, had announced his defection from the APC on 13th July, 2022, over some irregularities in the leadership of the party in the zone.

The former Borno State governor said, said, “In our efforts towards peace building and uniting the members of our party, l met with Honourable Fatuhu Muhammed, who had previously announced his defection from our party. Hon. Fatuhu, who represents Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency of Katsina state, is a critical stakeholder of the APC in Katsina state.”
