Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, met with his counterparts from Benue and Oyo States, Samuel Ortom and Seyi Makinde, once more in London, United Kingdom, as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, crisis worsens.

Political observers speculate that the Friday meeting may have something to do with the PDP crisis despite the fact that its specifics have not been made public.

Recall that efforts to patch up Wike and Atiku Abubakar’s relationship, which deteriorated after the PDP primary election, have been challenging.

According to Vanguard, Ortom, who was travelling to the United States of America, made a stopover for the meeting while Ortom, who had been on his annual vacation since the previous meeting, joined Makinde first.

It was gathered that the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu may join the PDP governors in the United Kingdom to conclude the previous meeting.

Recall that Governor Seyi Makinde, his Abia State counterpart, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and other PDP stalwarts from Governor Wike’s camp met with Asiwaju in London on August 23.

DAILY POST reports that Governor Wike’s inability to secure the party’s ticket for the 2023 presidential election has continued to tear the opposition PDP apart

Wike lost the PDP presidential primary held in Abuja on May 28 to the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.

His hope of emerging the party’s vice presidential candidate was also dashed when Atiku selected the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

The development has continued to spark fire from Governor Wike’s camp as he vowed to ensure that Atiku is defeated in the forthcoming elections.
