A woman has arrested by the police for allegedly killing her neighbour’s three-year-old child by pouring hot water adulterated with a substance on him at New Karu in Karu Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State.
According to Daily Trust, the father of the victim, Okanga Ogbu Kingsley, said the woman poured hot water on his child on September 7.
Okanga said the boy was rushed to the Medical Centre, Mararaba, but was referred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Keffi, Nasarawa State, where he died some hours later.
It was gathered that the suspect and her sister are detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia, Nasarawa State after the case was transferred from the New Nyanya Police Division.
Daily Trust reported that a family source said that earlier in the week, the police dispatched officers to the compound for further investigation.
The State Police Command has yet to issue any official statement on the incident at the time of filing this report.
