A Lagos-based artisan and part-time bus conductor identified as Wale Segun has narrated how he and his friend, a bus driver stole 43 goats during Osun-Lagos trips.

This is coming days after the part-time bus conductor was arrested by Amotekun officials for allegedly stealing goats in Osun State and taking them to Lagos to sell.

While narrating the criminal escapade, Segun said he and his friend steal goats while returning to Lagos whenever they bring passengers from Lagos to Osun State.

I usually drive the bus whenever we are returning while Segun will be picking goats that we find on our way. At times, I will park the vehicle and also join him in chasing the goats, he revealed.

When asked how they were able to do this without attracting people’s attention, Segun said; we usually carried out the act very early in the morning.

“We usually left Osogbo between 4:30am and 5am. We were always looking for goats that were sleeping on or by the road and be picking them as we moved along. We stole some goats along the Osogbo-Ibadan Expressway; we stole some from the communities after Gbongan town. We stole them from different places along that route”, he added.

Segun who disclosed that they were arrested by Amotekun, Ibadan and transferred to Osun Amotekun said they have stolen goats on three occasions.

‘We stole 15 goats the first time, 10 the second time and 18 the third time’, he added.

While explaining how Segun’s sister took the goats from them and sold to unsuspecting public in Lagos, the father of two disclosed that he was given N50,000 as his share from last proceeds and he used the money to buy foodstuffs for his family.
