Court fixes date for judgement in Machina vs Lawan case

A Federal High Court sitting in Damaturu has fixed September 28 for judgement in a suit filed by winner of the May 28th All Progressives Congress(APC) senatorial primary election of Yobe North, Bashir Sheriff Machina against APC, INEC and Senate President Dr. Ahmad Lawan.

Justice Fadima Aminu hon September 12th 2022 reserved judgement on the case after the defendants and plaintiff lawyers presented their arguments.

The learned judge told the counsels that the date for the judgement will be communicated in good time to all parties.

According to The Nation the case has been fixed for September 28, 2022.

One of the lawyers confirmed the date in a text message.

Machina is asking the court to compel INEC to publish his name as the winner of the May 28 senatorial primary election for Yobe North and the APC to send his name as its candidate.
