The US Embassy in Nigeria has issued a warning about an increased risk of terrorist attacks in the country’s capital, Abuja.

On Sunday, the U.S. Mission released a brief statement.

It listed targets as government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, and bars.

Others are restaurants, athletic gatherings, transport terminals, law enforcement facilities, and international organizations.

“The U.S. Embassy will offer reduced services until further notice,” the release added.

It warned American nationals against all non-essential travel or movement.

In other news, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) says it will continue to wield its “big stick” on officers found to be involved in fraudulent practices.

The National Public Relations Officer of the service, Deputy Comptroller Timi Bomodi told our correspondent in Abuja that the present administration had zero tolerance for corruption.

He said officers who had been found culpable over time had been punished in various ways depending on the level of culpability.
