The Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege has liken Delta state governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, to the mischievous and treacherous biblical character, “Juda -Iscariot”.
Speaking at the flag off of the APC presidential/governorship campaign held at the Warri Township Stadium, Omo-Agege said Okowa betrayed southern Nigeria in his quest for power.
He told the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the people of Delta State are friendly and accommodating people.
“We don’t tolerate traitors. We don’t like treachery and we don’t like traitors.”
He noted that only Juda-Iscariot was the traitor among the twelve disciples Jesus Christ had.
He said Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has embarked in an “ill-fated” adventure to become Vice President.
According to him, Okowa has refused to commit political suicide like Juda-Iscariot who betrayed Jesus Christ his Master.
He called on Okowa to step down from the ticket of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He said Delta State is supposed to be one of the richest states in the Niger Delta.
He added that with its natural endowment especially with the federation account, 13%derivation and others received, there’s nothing to show in commensurate order.
Omo-Agege pointed out that Warri has become the headquarters of Keke capital in Delta State.
He stressed that the people are suffering in the midst of plenty and they want the narrative to change.
