Osun Police parade 29 criminal suspects

The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Police Command, Faleye Sunday Olaleye has reiterated the assurance of the command to make the State unsafe for criminals and unscrupulous elements.

Olaleye made this known at the parade of suspected criminals at the police headquarters, Osogbo on Thursday.

The suspects paraded by the police included those apprehended for conspiracy and stealing, case of conduct likely to cause breach of peace and dissemination of false information, armed robbery, murder, stolen vehicle, fraud, obtaining money under false pretence and those arrested during police raids to hideouts across the State.

He said items recovered by the police from the suspects included three axes, three cutlasses, one dane gun, one catapult, locally made bullets and criminal charms.

Other exhibits included a Sienna vehicle with registration number RBC999BQ, burnt audio CD, Ford Ranger Pickup van with registration number KJA914YA, locally made pistol, love cartridges, one red Bajaj motorcycle, one Partner Phone, one Tecno mobile phone and Toyota Corolla 2006 model with registration number GGC990CY.

The arrested suspects are Babatunde Ibraheem, male, 23 years, Babalola Adebayo, male, 24 years, Nnachi James, male, 24 years who were arrested for conspiracy and stealing, Otitoju Omoniyi, male 41 years and Adewale Oni, male, 43 years arrested for case of conduct likely to cause breach of peace and dissemination of false information and Adigun Popoola, male, 35 years arrested for stealing.

Salami Fatai, male, aged 25 years and Ogundipe Caroline, female, aged 22 years were arrested for armed robbery, while Adepoju Sodiq, male, 27 years, Wasiu Olalekan, male, 24 years and Rasheed Kamal, male, 28 years were arrested for conspiracy and armed robbery.

“Fesomade Abiodun, male, 26 years, Jafar Ubali Ibrahim, male, 30 years, Adekunle Orisunmibola, male, 40 years and Azeez Famoriyo, male, 41 years were arrested on charges of armed robbery, murder, stolen vehicle, fraud and stealing and obtaining money under false pretence.”

Others arrested as a result of the police raids to suspected criminal hideouts across the State include: Oguniran Feranmi, male, 15 years, Olayinka Damilola, male 16 years, Olabosipo Afeez, male, 16 years, Ayodeji Samson, male 17 years, Adegoke Taofeek, male, 15 years, Babatunde Ayomide, male, 16 years, Bolatito Sunday, male, 17 years.

Others are Owolabi Hammed, male, 18 years, Faleye Olalekan, male, 15 years, Adegboroye Joseph, male, 22 years, Mutiu Hammed, male, 19 years, Jide Dare, male, 22 years, Bolarinwa Lukman, male , 27 years and Ismaila Olalekan, male, 33 years.

Olaleye while warning criminally-minded individuals to have a rethink before embarking on any criminal activity, disclosed that the long arms of the law will definitely catch up with them.

He also assured the residents of Osun of his earlier promise to make the State a sanctuary of peace.
