Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has appointed Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki as Director of Research, Strategy and documentation.

Dr. Obaseki, a seasoned scholar, broadcaster and political communicator, had previously been appointed as presidential consultant on media to the PDP presidential candidate.

The new appointment, however, is without prejudice to the earlier assignment which Dr. Obaseki undertakes.”

The new appointment is with immediate effect.

Atiku May Adopt Adeleke

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, may have decided to name Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as the main opposition party’s South West leader.

Due to the crisis in the party that has seen the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, who is the leader of the party in the region withdraw from Atiku’s campaign council, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, may adopt the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, as the leader of the party in the region.

According to a senior party official who spoke with the Daily Sun, Atiku, who is at odds with the G-5 governors, may soon depose Makinde as party leader in the South-West.

According to the source, the PDP hierarchy, led by the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, supports Atiku’s recognition of Adeleke as the leader of the South-West.

According to the source, Governor Adeleke is regarded by Atiku’s camp as a ready and trusted ally of the PDP presidential candidate.
