Kelechi Nwakali, a midfielder for the Super Eagles, claims he will play again in three weeks.
Nwakali suffered an injury during last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Malaga for his Segunda Division Spanish club, SD Ponferradina.
The 24-year-old was replaced by Ghana midfielder Sabit Abdulahi at 57 minutes.
SD Ponferradina later announced that the player will miss action for a few weeks.
“Road, to be back, see you in 3 weeks,” Nwakali announced on Twitter accompanied by a photo showing that he has already begun his rehabilitation.
The former Golden Eaglets captain is now expected to miss the games against Burgos, Lugo and Levante.
He is expected to return for the home clash against Villarreal 11 on January 8, 2023.
