Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has urged residents to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in order to continue fighting insecurity in the state.

In terms of insecurity in the state, the governor stated that only the PDP is concerned about the people’s well-being.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Ortom urged voters in the Konshisha and Gwer East local government areas to vote for the party’s governorship candidate, Titus Uba, in order for him to continue fighting the insecurity that has ravaged most of the country.

Ortom stated that only the PDP administration cares about the security of Benueans, adding that the PDP would strengthen the state’s fight against insecurity and other challenges.

The governor, who led the PDP campaign train to Tse-Agberaga and Aliade local government areas, emphasized that Uba has a track record of performance as Speaker of the state House of Assembly.

He added that he has no doubt that Uba will continue to build on its security achievements and fight terrorists who want to take over the state’s ancestral lands.

While discussing his senatorial ambitions, Ortom stated that if elected to represent Benue North-West, he will work with his colleagues, Senators Gabriel Suswam and Abba Moro, to support Uba as Governor in addressing the challenges confronting the state.

In his remarks at the campaign event, Uba expressed confidence that the people would vote for party candidates, including the governor.

He stated that in order for the people to demonstrate a firm commitment to the Benue people’s interests, Ortom and Suswam should be elected to the National Assembly.

The Benue State PDP governorship candidate stated that “it is homecoming for me,” and he is confident that the people will vote for him and other party candidates.

At the event, PDP Acting State Chairman Isaac Mffo welcomed defectors from other political parties into the PDP.

Dr Cletus Tyokyaa, Director of the State Campaign Management Committee, also stated that the party remains unbeatable because all of its candidates are experienced individuals who will add value to governance if elected.
