Atiku, Ayu visit Plateau PDP accident victims

Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, has paid visits to the victims of the tragic accident involving party members returning to Mangu from the Central Zone of Plateau State’s campaign flag-off in Pankshin on Saturday.

During his meeting with Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, he gave the victims N30 million.

In the accident in Plateau State’s Jwak Village, Panyam District, and Mangu Local Government Area (LGA), 16 confirmed fatalities and numerous injuries were recorded.

Barr. Caleb Mutfwang (BCM), the party’s candidate for governor of the Plateau, led Atiku, Ayuband, and other notable figures to the accident and emergency unit of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), where they met the victims and expressed their sympathies to them.

Atiku, Ayuband other eminent personalities were led to the accident and emergency unit of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) by Plateau governorship candidate of the party Barr. Caleb Mutfwang (BCM), where they met the victims to sympathize with them and pray for their recovery.

Atiku and his team were at the residence of the former Governor Senator Jonah David Jang, to commiserate with him over the tragic incident.

The presidential hopeful also visited the Mishkaham Mwaghavul, His Royal Highness Daa John Putmang Hirse, who was flanked by the National President, Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA), Sir Joseph Gwankat, and some members of the Mwaghavul traditional council.

He expressed his condolences to the Mwaghavul nation and prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the accident.

The Mishkaham Mwaghavul accepted Atiku Abubakar’s condolences on behalf of the people of Mangu LGA.

The presidential candidate donated N30million to the accident victims while Ayu donated N10million on behalf of the party, bringing the total donations to N40million.

Numerous survivors on admission have been discharged remaining five at Nisi Dominus Hospital, and two at Nanret Bethel Medical Center, all in Mangu.

Of the 28 admitted at the Jos University Teaching Hospital JUTH, three have been discharged while the remaining 25 are all in stable conditions.
