It was a bad day for Point of Sales, POS robbery gangs in Anambra state as security agents arrested robbery suspect who specialized in disposing operators of their cash and machines.
Our source revealed that the suspect who hails from Awka-Etiti, Anambra state was arrested by security after robbing a POS operator at Nnewi of undisclosed at amount.
According to our source, luck ran out on him when he attempted to rob another POS operator who started shouting, resulting in the suspect shooting sporadically in the air. This attracted the attention of the security operators who subsequently arrested the suspect.
Confessing to the crime, the suspect who gave his name as Nzube Ekesia told the Neighborhood Watch that he was lured into the crime by a friend who lives in Lagos. The friend who was also part of the recent robbery incident but now at large was also a citizen of Anambra state.
According to the suspect, the friend comes once in a while from Lagos to Anambra state to carry out robbery operations.
Narrating further, the suspect explained that though he specializes in Aluminum business, he was introduced into armed robbery because of hardship.
The suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
