The case on the naira swap policy has been adjourned by the Supreme Court to Wednesday, February 22 for hearing of the consolidated suits by 10 states.
Reports reveal that the apex court was filled to capacity on Wednesday with Senior Advocates of Nigeria, other lawyers, and the governors of Kaduna and Kogi States, Nasir El-Rufai and Yahaya Bello also present.
The Supreme Court previously halted the implementation of the February 10 deadline validity of the old naira notes in the suit instituted by the Zamfara, Kogi and Kaduna states against the federal government.
Other states, Niger, Kano, Ondo, and Ekiti, had also joined the suit.
The proceedings on Wednesday started with Justice John Okoro leading a seven-man panel.
Okoro stated that the court should not lose sight of the case and its intention as it affects the suffering of citizens in the country.
Also joining the suit was Lagos State through its Attorney General, Moyosore Onigbanjo.
Bayelsa and Edo states also applied to be included in the suit as respondents.
