Gbadebo Rohdes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s (LP) gubernatorial candidate, was a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), according to alumni.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that there have been speculations about the LP’s candidate being an alumnus of the institution.

However, according to an email from the MIT Alumni Association received by the Daily Post on Thursday, Rhodes-Vivour did attend the university from September 2005 to February 2008.

Mr. Rhodes-Vivour attended MIT from September 2005 to February 2008 and was awarded the degree of Master of Architecture on June 06, 2008, said Nicole Balkissoon, Finance and Operations Coordinator.

Gbadebo, also known as GRV, rose to prominence after the LP’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, won the presidential election in Lagos State.

On Match 18, the 40-year-old architect will face the incumbent governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abdulazeez Adeniran of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) is another strong contender.

Though Adeniran, alias Jandor, and the PDP have ruled out an alliance with the LP, the GRV is gaining support in Lagos following Peter Obi’s election victory.
