Three arrested for armed robbery in Ogun

Three members of a robbery syndicate have been arrested y the police for allegedly terrorizing Ewekoro and its environs in Ogun State.

The State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, identified the suspects as Ahmed Isiaka, Sunday Ajibola and Jimoh Wahab.

Oyeyemi said the suspects were arrested following a distress call received at Ewekoro division that a 4-man robbery gang had invaded Apomu Community in Ewekoro Local Government Area, dispossessing residents of their belongings.

Upon the distress call, the DPO of Ewekoro division, CSP Jacob Olayemi, was said to have quickly mobilized his patrol team to the scene.

The PPRO said the robbers on sighting the policemen fled, but they were chased and three of them were arrested with the assistance of residents.

Oyeyemi listed the items recovered from the suspects to include: one locally fabricated double-barrelled pistol, five live cartridges, one expended cartridge, one Bajaj motorbike (with registration number TTN 975 VU), one TVS bike (with registration number JBD 353 W) and some criminal charms.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the State CIID for discreet investigation.
