Festus Keyamo, the Chief Spokesman for the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign, has warned of a plot to rig the party’s governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Aishatu Ahmed Binani.

Keyamo claimed that the incumbent governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, is putting pressure on INEC officials to change the Fufore Local Government Area (LGA) result in order to reduce Binani’s clear lead in the election.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the allegation was made by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment in a series of tweets on Sunday night via his Twitter account.

Keyamo also claimed that the state’s Commissioner of Police, State Director of the Department of State Service (DSS), and Resident Electoral Commissioner are all under pressure from the governor to announce the tainted Fufore LGA results.

He claimed that over 11,000 votes were taken away from Binani, emphasizing that the situation in Adamawa with the APC candidate is intolerable.

As a result, Keyamo urged the electoral umpire to put an end to the alleged rigging immediately, noting that Binani is the first woman to run for governor.

He wrote:

What’s happening in Adamawa to Sen. Binani is UNACCEPTABLE. Reports are that officials of
@inecnigeria are under pressure by Gov. Fintiri to change the result of Fufore LGA to reduce her clear lead in the Gov. race. This is the 1st woman to come this far! INEC MUST HALT THIS NOW!
