Benue House member-elect escapes assassination, vehicle burnt

Benue State House of Assembly member-elect for Gboko-West constituency, Aondona Dajoh, has escaped assassination and his vehicle burnt by hoodlums.

It was gathered that the hoodlums ambushed the member-elect at Gyado Junction in Gboko Local Government Area of the state while driving home on Thursday evening.

According to PUNCH, sources said he abandoned his car and ran for dear life when the attackers who came in unconfirmed numbers descended on him.

The state police spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene, when contacted confirmed the incident in a text message, PUNCH reports.

Anene said, “Attack on Hon. Aondona Dajoh is confirmed. Though he escaped unhurt, his vehicle was burnt down.

“Investigation into the case is ongoing please.”
