The Young Progressives Party, YPP candidate in Abia state gubernatorial election, Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor  has debunked the recent publication by some media houses that he is taking the winner of the election to court.

In a press release today by Ben Udechukwu Special Adviser (Media & Publicity) to the YPP candidate, the YPP said this is handiwork of mischief makers.

“Our attention has been drawn to a misinformation making the rounds that Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor (Nana), the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the just concluded Gubernatorial Election in Abia is going to court to challenge outcome of the election.

“This information did not emanate from Engr. Nwafor and does not in any way represent his wish by any stretch of the imagination.

“The true position is that Engr. Nwafor, despite the outcome of the Guber election, accepted the result and has since congratulated Dr. Alex Otti who was returned duly elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“The genuinely compassionate and grace filled Nana predicated his ambition to be Governor on the Perfect Will of God, hence his decision to congratulate the winner, who Nana believes is chosen by God.

“At a time like this, we must be mindful of the activities of fifth columnists whose primary aim is to achieve mischief and to further fan the embers of disunity

“Engr. Nwafor believes and correctly too that litigations of this nature serve as huge distraction while costing so much, in a State that is in dire need of developmental strides.

“The  Construction giant considers his decision of not going to court and similar decisions, post election; to be in the general interest of Abians, the people he had sought to restore their dignity to the glory of God in Gods Own State.

“The YPP Abia 2023 Guber Candidate wishes Dr. Otti, the Governor Elect well, as Dr. Otti strives to drive an Abia that would meet the aspirations of the civil servants, pensioners, MSMEs and the millions who are victims of poor leadership; spanning many years with huge infrastructural deficits in nearly all sectors of the Abia economy.

“Engr. Nwafor restates unequivocally that he would, going forward , hold the Dr. Otti administration accountable, as a way of ensuring that Abians are not shortchanged or made to suffer the brunt of poor leadership.

“Nana encourages all his teeming supporters, members of the YPP/RESTORATION AGENDA,  indeed all Abians to remain peaceful and law abiding at all times”
