The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the Certificate of Return to Kano State Governor-elect, Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Yusuf defeated Nasir Gawuna of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 18 governorship election.
Professor Abdullahi Zuru, INEC National Commissioner, and Ambassador Abdu Zango, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), presented the certificate to Yusuf at the Commission’s head office in Kano.
INEC officials also issued certificates of return to the State House of Assembly members-elect and the Deputy Governor-elect.
The state Chairman of the NNPP, Haruna Umar Doguwa, a party chieftain, Shehu Sagagi, and other party leaders were present at the ceremony on Wednesday.
