Hajiya Saratu Umar’s appointment as Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) has been terminated with immediate effect by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The President also mandated the most senior Director in the Commission to take over in the interim in a direction to the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Otunba Richard Adeniyi Adebayo.
Chief Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, issued a brief statement on Thursday night that did not explain why Umar was removed from office.
