Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has responded to the alleged call for Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi to leave the country.
WITHIN NIGERIA reported on Wednesday that the LP had received warnings from security agencies to leave the country or face arrest.
The party claimed that the warnings were issued to Obi in response to a petition filed against the All Progressives Congress (APC) victory and the election of Bola Tinubu as president-elect.
According to LP, the pressure on Obi to leave the country is an attempt to persuade him to drop his legal case, which is currently being heard by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
In response to the allegation, Fani-Kayode called on the former governor of Anambra State to leave the country on Thursday.
The former minister, who is now an APC chieftain, also stated that if the LP presidential candidate leaves, he should never return to the country.
In a post on his verified Twitter account, Fani-Kayode stated that Obi should leave the country as soon as possible.
The APC chieftain wrote;
“I’m under pressure to leave Nigeria”- Peter Obi.
“Please do us all a big favour and GO!
Sooner the better and NEVER come back!”
