One Kelvin Iorfa, a deacon, has opened up on his brutalising and assaulting of a woman recently.

Iorfa, a deacon with one of the churches in Benue State, said his action was propelled by a “spiritual attack”.

Recall that Iorfa was recently captured in a viral video torturing a lady.

He was seen in the video flogging the lady said to be his younger sister with a belt. The young lady later fainted in the video.

The video elicited widespread condemnation with many calling for his arrest.

Subsequently, Iorfa was apprehended by men of the Benue State Police Command.

Following his arrest, he reportedly pleaded that he was under a spell which inhibited him from knowing what he was doing.

He claimed he was “surprised” seeing himself in the video that has gone viral, beating his younger sister.

The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, confirmed his arrest on Tuesday morning.

She, however, said he is yet to be interrogated.

“Yes, that is true [he has been arrested]. But for the claims about what he said, I haven’t spoken with him. When I speak with him, I will get back to you,” the PPRO said.
