The governor expressed sympathy to the relatives of the victims in a statement signed by his head of press and public relations, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, and gave the assurance that the government would take action against those who enjoy hurting innocent people.

The governor also expressed shock and sorrow over the accident that involved a fuel tanker which exploded and caught fire on Bauchi Road, Jos, the state capital, killing 10 people.
