Despite interest from major European football clubs, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has reiterated that he will not sell star player Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window.

After scoring a scudetto-sealing equaliser against Udinese on Thursday, Osimhen inspired the Azzurri to their first Serie A title win in 33 years.

The president of Napoli stated that he intends to keep the majority of the team’s stars together for the upcoming season and added that he has put all necessary arrangements in place for coach Luciano Spalletti’s contract extension.

“I will not sell Victor Osimhen this summer — no way,” he told Rai.

“I’ve already activated and triggered the option to extend Luciano Spalletti’s contract for next season.”

Osimhen is on course to become the first African player to win the Italian Serie A Golden Boot with 22 goals this campaign.

He has already broken the Samuel Eto’o’s record (21) for the most goals scored by an African Player in a single Serie A season, and tied George Weah’s record for the highest African goalscorer in Serie A with 46 goals.

Bayern Munich, PSG, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are some of the clubs rumoured to be battling for his signature this summer.
