Delta: Police Arrest 2 Women Over Fake Currency, Nab 6 Others For Kidnapping

Two women, Favour Aloh (23) and Ginikach Nina (32) have been arrested for allegedly being in possession of fake naira notes, the police in Delta state have said.

The state Police Command also disclosed that six others were apprehended for robbery, kidnapping and drug peddling.

The spokesman of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, who who made the disclosure to newsmen, said the arrest was made as result of a complaint received from a 72-old-year woman in Warri that the suspects came with fake currencies to buy goods from her.

Edafe also disclosed that four suspects were arrested for “one chance” robbery after a complaint lodged by a victim who was robbed by their syndicate.

He said the victim reported that the incident happened on the Benin-Asaba Expressway close to Asaba Airport in which her handbag and other valuables were stolen.

Edafe further said that the arrest of one Ananias Omachefu Akoji (31) from Kogi State and resident in Asaba led to the arrest of three others, including the leader of the gang, named Chinedu Sunday (33) in Abraka Market in Ethiope East LGA.

He explained that the gang leader was in possession of the victim’s SIM card which was recovered from him.

He noted that investigation led to the arrest of two other suspects who usually bought stolen items from the suspects and that some stolen items were recovered.

He further disclosed that a 25-year-old dreaded kidnapper, Cyril Efe, of Ohorhe community in Uvwie LGA was arrested and was found to be in possession of a Beretta pistol and 15 rounds of AK-47 ammunition
