Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje will hand over power to Governor-elect Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf on Sunday, rather than May 29 as is customary.
This was stated by Malam Muhammad Garba, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs.
According to him, the ceremony, which will take place on May 28, 2023 at 9 p.m. at Government House in Kano, became necessary due to the governor’s engagement as the state’s delegation to the inauguration of President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to him, already, the Kano State Government Transition Committee has communicated the development to the transition committee of the governor-elect, adding that the two committees have met within the week, during which a handing over document was presented and a harmonised agenda worked out.
