As soon as the cheiftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) was sworn in as the new governor of the North-West state on Monday, the stage where Abba Kabir’s inauguration as governor of Kano State was taking place collapsed.
The incident occurred in the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano with the Governor, his deputy, and the acting Chief Judge all present at the platform.
The podium’s collapse was caused by some young people who were seen climbing the podium’s roof.
But it was established that the governor and his deputy were safe.
Kabir, an ally of NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso took over from Abdullahi Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
