Uba Sani, the newly sworn-in Governor of Kaduna, has renamed a major street after his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Sani changed Rabah Road to Nasir El-Rufai Way after his inauguration as governor of the state.

The governor also ordered the Kaduna Capital Territory Authority (KCTA) to rename the 15-kilometer stretch of road.

The Nasir El-Rufai Way, a major artery of the city’s road network, was the first to connect the city’s eastern and western sectors. It begins at the Eastern Bypass, crosses Malali, and continues to the NDA and across the Nnamdi Azikiwe bypass before ending at the Rigasa train station link road.

Meanwhile, Nasir El-Rufai, the outgoing Governor of Kaduna State, has given the go-ahead to dismiss Bello Zubairu Idris, the Clerk of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

Muyiwa Adekeye, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication, announced the decision in a statement.

In addition to Idris, Governor El-Rufai fired permanent secretary Yau Yunusa Tanko and Kaduna Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA) secretary Francis Kozah.

In addition, the governor accepted the retirement of Stephen Joseph, another state permanent secretary.

Just last week, El-Rufai stated his intention to continue demolishing houses and “removing bad people” until the end of his term.

His promise was revealed at the launch of “Putting The People First,” a book highlighting his legacies written by Emmanuel Ado, a veteran journalist and public commentator.
