On Tuesday, the Adamawa State House of Assembly granted Governor Ahmadu Fintiri the authorization to appoint 50 special advisers.
This approval followed a letter sent by Governor Fintiri to the Assembly, requesting permission to proceed with the appointments.
The Assembly’s endorsement, given during Tuesday’s session, has been hailed as a revitalizing boost to the newly-formed government of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
Thus far, his only appointment had been that of a press secretary, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, announced during his inauguration dinner on May 29. Governor Fintiri has maintained a low profile since the appointment of Mr. Wonosikou.
Fintiri’s inactivity had been blamed on the loss of his cousin, Malama Laraba Mamman who had died in a road crash while travelling to his inauguration.
