The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has been described as a betrayal for suspending the proposed nationwide strike.

Deji Adeyanju, a public affairs commentator, accused the NLC of being compromised.

NLC had vowed to declare a nationwide strike on Wednesday.

But on Tuesday night, the labour unions, NLC and TUC called off the nationwide strike.

Reacting, Adeyanju tweeted: “Woke up to see the betrayal by NLC. I knew this was going to happen.

“Once you see people who should be protesting almost sleeping in the Villa, compromise is the next thing.

“They suspended the strike without achieving anything. A hungry man cannot do Aluta. Shame!”
