At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu swore Senator George Akume in as the next Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Around 11:06 a.m., in the Council Chambers of the Villa, Senator Akume took his oath of allegiance and his oath of office. The brief ceremony attracted luminaries, including some current and previous governors.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, and Wife of the New SGF Mrs. Regina Akume were among those present for the ceremony.
