His body, according to them, had been buried. He was described as a diligent youth with potential.

His girlfriend, identified as Rebecca Musa, stated that the deceased had informed her, when she noticed he was disturbed, that he was owing some people in the area the sum of N250,000.

According to her: “He told me that those he owed have started demanding their money, and he couldn’t pay back. He told me that the issue was disturbing him, and he didn’t know how he was going to settle the debts. I didn’t know it would result in him killing himself over it.”

The Niger State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the development.

However, he said the corpse was removed and taken to the General Hospital’s morgue before it was released to the family.

He further affirmed that an investigation is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
