Kano Gov’t Reopens Centres Closed By Ganduje

On Thursday, the Kano State Government announced the reopening of 26 Entrepreneurship Institutes that had been closed during the administration of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Alhaji Marwan Ahmad, the Commissioner for Works and Housing, made the announcement at a news conference in Kano.

He stated that Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s administration established the institutes to equip youths and women with various skills.

Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf has directed that all the 26 Entrepreneurship Institutes established by Sen. Kwankwaso’s Administration which the previous administration abandoned, are hereby reopened.

The institute includes Journalism, Horticulture, Poultry, Driving, Reformatory, Hospitality and Tourism, Animal Husbandry, Sports, Informatics, and Corporate Security, among others, he said.

According to him, the institutes will be optimally utilized to address the serious threat of drug addiction and thuggery that residents of the state face.

He added that the governor had also directed contractors working on 5-kilometre road projects initiated by Kwankwaso’s administration across the state’s 44 local government areas to resume work at the sites.

Ahmad also stated that the state government had resumed work on the abandoned Jakara River Project in Kano.

The commissioner reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to improving people’s lives through infrastructure.

“Infrastructure provision would stimulate the state’s socioeconomic activities and revenue base, as well as overall community development.”

The TSC has Mr. Alex Chup as Chairman, Mrs. Victoria Jatau as Commissioner 1 and Mr. Cyril Longpuan as Commissioner 2.SUBEB has Mr. Sunday Amuna as Acting Chairman, Mrs. Chundung Shom as Full Time Member, Mr Godwin Kasam as Full Time Member and Tang’an Emmanuel as Secretary.
