  • Police spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo, warns that vehicle owners found driving with unauthorized tinted glass will be prosecuted according to the law
  • The Cross River Command emphasizes the misuse of artificially tinted vehicles for personal purposes without proper authorization

On Tuesday, the police command in Cross River declared the usage of vehicles with unauthorized tinted glass throughout the state as illegal.

According to a statement from SP Irene Ugbo, the command’s spokesperson, this action was taken due to the role of tinted glass-equipped vehicles in facilitating criminal activities within the state. Ms. Ugbo cautioned that the command had made a decision to prosecute any vehicle owner discovered driving with tinted glass that lacks proper authorization, in accordance with the law.

“The Nigeria Police, Cross River Command in particular, has observed with dismay the way and manner individuals without any authorisation or permission, artificially tint their vehicles, unregistered, or covered for selfish purposes.

“In view of the above, the Command wishes to advise members of the public to shun or desist from this practice as anyone caught indulging in this illegal practice will face the full wrath of the law.
