Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Emir of Zazzau in Kaduna State, has formed an 11-member Technical Committee of professionals to oversee the reconstruction of the collapsed Jumma’at Mosque.

According to a statement issued by Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, the emirate’s Media and Publicity officer, Arch. Muhammadu Namadi Sambo, the former Vice President who is also the Sardaunan Zazzau, will chair the committee with Arch. Ibrahim Waziri serving as secretary.

Members of the committee include Arch. Abubakar Abdulkadir, Professor Kabir Bala, Vice Chancellor, ABU, Arch. Muhammadu Aminu Idris, Sheikh Dr. Hayatuddeen, Arch. Gambo Hamza, and TPL Bello Nuhu Yakubu, according to the statement.

Other members are Bld. Lawal Magaji, Arch. Isa A. A., and Arch. Haruna Abubakar Bamalli.

Remember that on Friday, August 11, 2023, a section of the Zazzau Central Mosque collapsed on worshipers performing Asr prayers, killing eight people and injuring many more.

Despite the fact that the statement did not specify the committee’s terms of reference or duration, the members began their assignment with a visit to the site on Thursday.

NSCDC alerts on fake recruitment letters

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), has alerted Nigerians on the circulation of fake and invalid employment letters purportedly from the Corps, warning unsuspecting and desperate job seekers to take caution in order not to fall victim to fraudsters and scammers.

According to a statement credited to the Crops Public Relations Officer (PRO), Babawale Afolabi, the Corps have been inundated with complaints from victims who had parted with their hard-earned money ranging from N250,000 to N500,000 before they were issued the fake letters only to get to the NSCDC office and find out that they have been scammed.

”The Commandant General of the NSCDC Dr. Ahmed Audi, would like to alert the public of the fake and malicious employment letters currently circulating in the country and to state categorically and unequivocally that the misleading and criminal employment letters did not emanate from the NSCDC nor the Fire, Immigration and Correctional Service Board. Still, the handwork of yet to-be-identified and faceless criminal-minded individuals taking undue advantage of desperate job seekers in the country, ”btye statement contains.
