  • The troubled number two man of the southern state has commenced the relocation of his office to an area outside the premises of the Government House

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu, has reportedly begun the process of vacating his official office in the Edo state government house.

The troubled number two man of the southern state has commenced the relocation of his office to an area outside the premises of the Government House, according to Channels TV.

The move may not be unconnected to the political imbroglio that the two leaders of the executive arm of government in the state are embroiled in.

The development follows last week’s withdrawal of Shuaibu’s suit filed at the Federal High Court to stop alleged plots by the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, to remove him from office.

In the last couple of weeks, a series of incidents involving Shaibu and his principal in the public further corroborated the widely held notion that things are not well between the two.

The new office is situated at No. 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue, close to the Government House.

Insiders disclosed that a letter was sent by the Head of Service to the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor instructing her to oversee the movement of civil servants and files to the new office.

It was also gathered that the new office is not befitting of someone occupying the position of the deputy governor of a state.

It’s said to be unhabitable as there is no electricity, is waterlogged, and the office spaces are significantly small.

The state government had however maintained that the deputy governor’s new office is within the confines of the area designated as the Government House
