The Lagos State Government has decided to delay the planned repairs on the deteriorated segments of the Third Mainland Bridge.

Initially slated for two consecutive Sundays, September 17 and 24, from 7 am to 7 pm, the repairs have been postponed due to heavy rainfall experienced throughout the metropolis.

This downpour disrupted the initial stages of the intended repairs on the bridge’s asphalt pavement, handled by the Lagos State Public Works Corporation.

The repair efforts were a collaborative initiative between the Lagos State Public Works Corporation and the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing to address the failing portions of the heavily traversed Third Mainland Bridge.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, assured that a new date for the repairs, contingent on weather conditions, would be communicated promptly.

In the meantime, motorists are urged to exercise caution and adhere to safety protocols when using the bridge.
