Hoodlums have set fire to the house of a Social Democratic Party (SDP) chieftain, Abdul Yusuf Amichi, aka Abdul limbo, in Ugwolawo, the headquarters of Kogi State’s Ofu local government area.

According to witnesses, the hoodlums who struck around 11 p.m. on Wednesday remained active until early Thursday morning.

“They set fire to an SDP campaign vehicle and vandalized the home of an SDP supporter, Abdul Yusuf Amichi, in Ugwolawo’s Ward 1.”

“There was a serious gunshot in Abdul Limbo’s house in Ugwolawo ward 1, and his house was also damaged,” a resident named Abu Alijenu said.

According to the victim, the hoodlums came to his house late at night and shot sporadically.

In the process, they set fire to the party’s official vehicle, vandalized Limbo’s vehicle, and stole his valuables, including a generator.

“I have reported the incident to the police,” he stated.

Sheik Ibrahim Jibrin, Director-General of the SDP campaign, who visited the incident scene, condemned the act.

SP William Aya, the Kogi Police Public Relations Officer, did not return calls or texts.

Gunmen kill three vigilantes in Edo

Gunmen have reportedly killed three Edo State Security Network (ESSN) members.

The victims were killed on Thursday night at Okhun Community in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the incident may have something to do with leadership tussle in the community, while others suspected a cult reprisal attack.

An operative of the security outfit identified simply as ‘commander Small Baba’ confirmed the incident.

He said they received information about some armed non-state actor terrorising Okhun Community but were attacked on their way to the scene of the violence.

He made the disclosure in a one-minute, forty-six viral audio/video.
