  • Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki, a PDP member, suggests Nigerians will be shocked if Chicago State University releases Tinubu’s academic records
  • Atiku seeks disclosure due to potential new evidence in pending petitions

Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and member of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in the last election, has said Nigerians will be shocked if the Chicago State University (CSU) releases President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic records.

Obaseki, the PDP – PCC’s Director of Research and Documentation in the 2023 election, explained that Atiku is seeking open disclosure of Tinubu’s CSU documents because it is believed that the Supreme Court of Nigeria may be forced to hear new evidence in the petitions already submitted to it.

Speaking at a Zoom conference hosted by Prof. Gold Emmanuel, a psychologist based in London, yesterday, Obaseki stated that the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is insisting on the full disclosure of President Tinubu’s academic records by Chicago State University because of the nature of the issue and the need for Nigerians to know.

Even though President Tinubu has stated that public disclosure of his CSU documents would cause irreparable harm to him, he claims that “Nigerians would be even more shocked to know more about the certificate in question.”

APC youth leader begs Atiku to discontinue suit against Tinubu in US court

Hyde Kalu, a youth leader from the All Progressives Congress (APC), has appealed to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to withdraw the lawsuit he filed against President Bola Tinubu in the United States.

In the suit, Atiku requested that a US district court compel Chicago State University, where Tinubu studied, release the President’s academic records.

In a statement on Monday, Kalu urged Atiku to let the Nigerian judiciary handle any disputes arising from the 2023 presidential election.

He emphasized that the legal conflict in the US is causing Nigeria to be perceived negatively by other nations, which is bringing embarrassment to the country.
