BREAKING: Tribunal Begins Judgement In Nasarawa Guber Election

The judgment is being delivered via Zoom for “security reasons.”

  • Former Nasarawa State Governors Abdullahi Adamu and Umaru Tanko Al-Makura have visited the courtroom to witness the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal judgement.
  • The tribunal has not provided a link for interested parties, but a 33-inch television is being viewed by counsels and party supporters.

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has begun hearing arguments in the case involving Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The tribunal is located in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State.

At 9:35 am, the tribunal convened to hear the case between Governor Abdullahi Sule and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), which was followed by the case between the APC and Abdullahi Maidoya of the NNPP.

Zoom is being used to deliver the verdict for “security reasons.”

Reports have it that the tribunal did not share a link for interested persons to link up, but a 33-inch television is seen mounted for the viewing by counsels and other party supporters.

Those present in the courtroom for the judgement include the State Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe; the former Deputy Governor of the state, Labaran Maku; the secretary to the state government; Ombugadu’s running mate, Ohinoyi; the state APC chairman, Aliyu; the state PDP Chairman, Francis Orogu; and other prominent personalities.

Former Governors of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu and Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, have also arrived at the courtroom to witness the proceedings of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal judgment.

There is presence of combined security operatives in the venue.
