One Sunday Ugbada has allegedly beheaded a woman in Kogi state, the police in the middle belt state have disclosed.
The Police Command’s spokesman, SP William Aya, who confirmed the incident, made the disclosure on Wednesday.
Ugbada, who hails from Ogoh Okpo in Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state, has since been arrested by the police.
It was gathered that the woman was beheaded on her farm in Ogene Iga village in Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.
Residents said a search party was organised on Monday to locate her whereabouts as she did not come back from the farm that Sunday.
A local said her severed head was taken away by the assailant.
Sylvester Adaji, a resident, said, “We saw her corpse in an isolated place on her farm. To our surprise, her head was cut off and taken away by her assailants. We could only recognise her by her wares. It was a gory sight and a taboo on our land.”
The police image maker, Aya, said, “One Sunday Ugbada of Ogoh Okpo was arrested in connection with the crime. One Itel phone belonging to the victim was recovered from the suspect.”
“Investigation is still on and the suspect will be charged to court as soon as questioning is concluded,” Aya added
