  • The GRA tribunal in Ikeja has ordered INEC to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Osafile and re-issue a fresh one to Hon Folorunso.
  • The tribunal ruled that Labour Party candidate Foluke Osafile was not valid in the election, resulting in all votes cast for the party being null and void.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Folorunso Olaitan Segun was declared the victor of the state assembly election held in Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 1 in March 2023 by the Lagos State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was directed by the GRA, Ikeja-based tribunal to revoke the Certificate of Return granted to Labour Party candidate Foluke Osafile and provide a new one to Hon. Folorunso.

In confirming Hon. Folorunso’s victory, the tribunal ruled that Labour Party candidate Foluke Osafile was unable to participate in the election, making all votes cast for the Labour Party invalid.
